BACK-TO-SCHOOL BREAKFAST

  • Our welcome back to a new school year for about 75 teachers. It's an Inservice day and meeting with new teacher introductions. It's usually buffet style. Food, drink, parent volunteers and cash donations needed.

WISH LIST

  • Budget: $15,000.00
  • Requests for item teachers, staff and administration need that are new provided by the district. Our last year's budget provided for 14 new LCD projectors, a speaker set for activities, First Aid kits, Speech and Debate stop watches and 1 easel, a printer and cartridges for a math teacher, energy star VCR & DVD player for science videos, $600 to Robotics Club, Piccolo for the music department, 1 networked HP color laser 13'' x 19" capable printer for Journalism, 5 TI presenters for the math department, 3M Post-It easel pads for the english department,and a 27' TV for the english department. Wish List written requests are reviewed and discussed for approval at the monthly Parent Club Meetings.

CHARGER ACCOUNT

  • Budget: $2000.00 shared with Booster Club
  • Once a month for 8 months-usually weekday mornings. Parent Club tapes, labels, and mails over 1500 Charger Account newspapers to Leland family homes. Parent volunteers are always welcome on mail processing days! Great way to meet other parents.

BLUE & GOLD AUCTION

  • Date: Saturday, March 1, 2008
  • Parent Club and Booster Club's only annual fundraising event! Proceeds are shared by both clubs. A grand themed evening of dinner, dance and auction for adults. Great social event held off site! Always a sell out! Volunteers and donations needed in many capacities.

TEACHER APPRECIATION LUNCHEON

  • Budget: $500.00
  • Our thank-you to Leland's hardworking, dedicated team! 5 administrators, 75 teachers, and 45 staff. Held in the faculty dining room from 11:30 to 12:30pm. Food, drink, cards, cash, flowers, and parent volunteers needed. This puts a proud smile on their faces as another school year rolls toward an end.

SENIOR GRAD NIGHT

  • Date: June 12, 2008 - evening of graduation
  • Budget: $1500.00
  • A safe and sober graduation event. Close to 270 seniors board busses to go to Boomers in Livermore for a final night affair of food, games, rides, and fun! Donations in cash, prizes and refreshments are appreciated. Parents are needed to help plan and/or chaperone this event.

CAREER DAY

  • Date: biannual-next held 2007/2008 school year
  • Budget: $500.00
  • An all day event held every other year in the Spring. Each student participates twice in their 4 years at Leland. We provide lunch for a group of dedicated speakers so spend a day at Leland talking to and guiding all of our students. Organizing volunteers needed next year.

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS

  • Processing scholarships forms for nominated seniors to be awarded during the senior awards event. Working with Joan Albers, career counselor at Leland.

SENIOR BRUNCH

  • Providing continental brunch for seniors on the morning of graduation rehearsal. Food, drink, and parent volunteers needed.
